About

My name is Rae (hence the Aurorae). I’m a twenty-something programmer working my way through the industry towards my ultimate career goal of being a UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) Architect and Analyst. I’ve held a variety of positions and internships that have exposed me to a variety of systems and tools from Mainframes to Oracle servers—from classic ASP to Silverlight and Flash.

I’m an avid fan of web development, my primary tools of the trade being HTML + jQuery, ASP.NET, PHP, and AJAX. I also enjoy developing desktop and mobile applications—WinForms, WPF, Flash, Silverlight, and XNA. I also have the odd aspect of enjoying graphic design and media (and I’d like to think I have a knack for it). I am well-versed in most of the Adobe products and have at least some experience with the rest.

I hold a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Harding University. A significant portion of my free time goes to tinkering with my own websites, designing sites for friends and local organizations, and playing around with assorted logo and graphic design projects. Most recently I’ve picked up photography and have taken opportunities to take photo shoots of various subjects, largely of children.

Most of all I enjoy problem solving—building bridges (metaphorically, of course).
